Tamera Mowry is one-half of the “Sister, Sister” twins, and she’s a talk show host, a wife and a mother. And she’s about to be a mother for the second time. The actress and talk show host announced just after the New Year she is expecting her second child with her news correspondent husband, Adam Housley. The couple has been married since May 15, 2011 (the day I celebrated my 6th wedding anniversary). While we might think that we know all there is to know about Tamera Mowry thanks to the many years she and her twin sister Tia have been in the public eye, we really don’t know much about her at all. In fact, I believe that some of her personal information might actually surprise people who haven’t followed the star’s personal life too much. If you think you know all there is know about Tamera Mowry, think again.
Her Husband is Her First
She’s a devout Christian, and Tamera Mowry is a big believer in doing what is right. She was 29 the first time she was with a man, and it was her husband, but it was years before they were married. She once said she felt such an immense guilt about allowing that to happen that she vowed she would not engaged in that kind of intimate behavior again until she was a married woman. She didn’t get married to her husband for another four years, however, so we don’t really know if we believe she abstained.
She’s the “Big” Sister
Being a twin is something that a lot of people are familiar with, but few know much about. After having twins of my own last year, I’ve learned this firsthand. Many assume that being twins they were born at the exact same time, but this is not the case. Tamera Mowry is the ‘older’ twin by two entire minutes, something I’m sure she frequently reminded her sister as children.
She’s One of Four
She has two brothers in addition to her twin sister. Her younger brother Tahj was often portrayed on her television show, but her other brother Tavior was not. He’s actually a college football star for the University of California, Davis. We’d say it’s safe to say her family has reached a substantial amount of success.
