Michela Pace (better known as Michela) is a Maltese singer who will be representing Malta at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Chameleon”.
Born in Victoria; the capital city of Maltese island Gozo, Michela grew up with a love for music.
Michela was one of sixty artists shortlisted for Malta’s national selection show Malta Eurovision Song Contest (MESC) 2017 with the song “Cruise Control”, however, she was not selected for the live shows.
Michela did not let this stop her. She rose to fame earlier this year, at only seventeen years old, after winning the first season of The X Factor in Malta. She wowed the judges at her audition with her rendition of “Total Eclipse Of The Heart”, bringing judge and Eurovision legend Ira Losco to tears. In the following weeks, the singer continued to impress the judges in both the boot camp and six chair challenge stages of the competition, ensuring her place in the top twelve.
Across the four weeks of live shows, Michela delivered some stunning performances and went on to win the hearts of fans across Malta, being crowned the winner of the competition on 26 January. Her triumph also saw her win a contract with Sony Music Italy.
